Tommy Doyle

Nick Broeker isn't the only former draft pick on the offensive line that is entering minicamp on the roster bubble. Tommy Doyle was a fifth round pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2021 and was considered to be similar to Spencer Brown in terms of being an athletic offensive tackle but may not have the technique yet.

Last offseason, Doyle showed some versatility as he played some guard during practice and training camp and saw his first extensive regular season action on offense in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins. Unfortunately for Doyle, he is working his way back from a torn ACL suffered in the early part of the 2022 season. It remains to be seen where he is in his recovery and how much he might be able to do at minicamp.

Doyle has shown he can be a good backup on this offensive line but the challenge will be where he fits on the 53-man roster. If he is not ready to contribute at the start of the season, the Bills have the option to place him on the physically unable to perform list but even after he returns the team has seemingly their backup tackles in David Quessenberry and Brandon Shell.
