Bryan Thompson might surprise and make the Buffalo Bills 2023 roster

The Bills' wide receiver core could have used another playmaker added this offseason, and who knows, maybe DeAndre Hopkins is still an option. It might just happen, the later on we get in the summer. Stefon Diggs needs more talent around him to step up and make plays, taking pressure off he and quarterback Josh Allen.

Brandon Beane added Dalton Kincaid, and now the Bills can run more 12 personnel with two pass-catching threats at the tight end position. Still, the Bills could use someone else to step up. Is it going to be Gabriel Davis, finally? Will it be second-year receiver Khalil Shakir? Could it be rookie Justin Shorter?

Speaking of Shorter, he's a big body, just as is undrafted free agent Bryan Thompson. At 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, Thompson presents a nice, outside type wide receiver who flashed a bit at Arizona State. Throughout the summer, he has an opportunity to work his tail off and, who knows, he might end up surprising.

Shorter struggled with drops at Florida, and if that is still an issue throughout training camp, it could leave the door open for someone else to come in and take his spot. It's rare that a draft pick doesn't make the final roster, but Shorter was definitely a questionable pick by Buffalo, and Thompson's ball-tracking, hand/eye coordination and ability to go up and make big plays could give him a shot at making some noise.
