Poona Ford

After the 2023 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills signed a few veterans to fill out the roster and address some needs. One of those needs was depth at defensive tackle and the Bills were able to sign Poona Ford to a one-year deal.

The Bills will rotate frequently at the position so Ford should be on the field for about 30% of the snaps each week but he is technically not the starter. That belongs to DaQuan Jones, who is returning for his second season with the Buffalo Bills.

DaQuan Jones should begin the season as the starter but as the season progresses, Poona Ford has an opportunity to surpass him on the depth chart. Jones is an older veteran and the coaching staff may want to limit his snaps to keep him fresh during what will hopefully be a playoff run.

Meanwhile, Poona Ford is in the prime of his career at 27 years old and has 64 career starts already. He has been a starter during his previous run with the Seattle Seahawks and could be a slight bump from what the defense gets from DaQuan Jones.
