The Buffalo Bills are considered to have one of the best rosters in the NFL. This is not only due to the starters but also the depth they have across the entire roster. There are a number of players who are entering the season as backups who certainly are talented enough to be starters in this league.

As the season progresses, it wouldn't be surprising to see these four players emerge as starters at some point.

4 backups who could become starters this season for the Buffalo Bills

Christian Benford

The first player is one that might already be the starter as he was in a training camp battle with Dane Jackson and no winner has officially been announced. In the end, I believe that Dane Jackson will be the one who gets the start opposite Tre'Davious White at cornerback for Week 1. This is not necessarily due to Benford's performance but rather Dane Jackson also played well this preseason and Sean McDermott might want the experience on the field to begin the season.

However, as the year goes on the Bills are sure to rotate at the position and Benford will get a chance to see the field. The percentage of snaps will probably change as the year goes on with Benford playing more while Jackson returning to a backup role.

As a rookie, Christian Benford made some good plays in nine games, with five starts, and certainly didn't look like a rookie. With another year in the system, he should be a big part of this defense this season.
