Unfair expectation for Buffalo Bills RB James Cook in 2023: Rush for 1,000 yards

If you are thinking that, since Cook is taking over the starting job and he was always the more talented back than Singletary, that he'll automatically get chalked up for 1,000 rushing yards in 2023, think again. The Bills haven't had a 1,000-yard rusher in five years, largely in part due to Josh Allen's rushing ability.

Because of Allen's rushing, along with having guys like Harris and Murray on the roster, the BIlls are going to run a committee. Depending on the situation, and who might be hot, it will be smart to do so, too.

Fair expectation for Buffalo Bills RB James Cook in 2023: Lead the Bills in rushing

Cook might not reach 1,000 yards, but he very well should end up as the team's leading rusher next season. The cards are stacked in a way where Cook should be the most overall touches. Therefore, based on how efficient he was even as a rookie, Cook will end up leading this team in rushing yards.

That could end up being 800-900 yards overall, with Harris finishing around 500-600 and Allen somewhere in that 400-500 range as well. But, Cook will wind up leading this backfield in rushing yards, overall. He'll probably end up leading in receiving yards, too, being as he's the primary back.
