The 2022 sixth-round pick has been solid in the 2022 NFL season. There was speculation on who would be starting at the second cornerback position, as two other players were battling for the spot.

Last year, undrafted player Dane Jackson was seeing a lot of reps at that spot, although Jackson's been a bit disappointing at times.

During the offseason, we knew that Tre'Davious White and Taron Johnson had the other cornerback spots locked up, but that cornerback two position has been a weak point on the defense for a long time, and because of that, the Bills would draft Kaiir Elam in the first round of the 2022 draft, and Benford would get drafted in the sixth.

Fans were expecting Elam to step up in year two, as the Bills spent more draft capital to get him, but the job wasn't just going to be up for grabs, no matter the value of players. Judging from the snap counts from the previous two games (both games being 100%), Benford is likely to be lined up opposite White for the time being.

During these two games, Benford's been solid and is assigned a tough task when going up against two talented receivers in Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson for most of the game. Benford will have to step up and have a good game to help strengthen Buffalo's chances of coming out of there with a win.
