3.) Signing of Leonard Floyd provides veteran presence

Floyd was a very late free agency signing for the Buffalo Bills, where he inked a one-deal worth up to $9 million dollars. This splash signing was a great fit for the Bills edge rusher room because of the uncertainty of Miller’s status.

Even though the Bills have a young defensive end in Gregory Rousseau who is going into a crucial year in 2023, having the veteran presence of Floyd will take pressure off of Rousseau.

In the past three seasons, Floyd has had nine or more sacks and was a contributor in the Rams’ super bowl victory in 2022 where he recorded five tackles and one sack. After being released by the Rams this offseason, the Bills were able to acquire Floyd who can easily maintain the role that Miller was in last season with the Bills.

In addition, when Miller does indeed return, Floyd can be utilized in a rotation that the Bills defense likes to use.
