Buffalo Bills Position Battle: Kaiir Elam vs. Dane Jackson

With Tre'Davious White fully recovered from a devastating knee injury that kept him away from the game for an entire year, one of the Buffalo Bills outside cornerback positions is filled — but who will line up opposite White when the season kicks off in September?

The Bills' management has always loved former seventh-round pick Dane Jackson. The young cornerback has started in 22 of the 37 games in his NFL career, including 14 starts last season.

But the Bills spent a first-round pick on Kaiir Elam last offseason and he didn't see the field as much as anticipated. In fact, Elam made all six of his starts before White returned in week 11 from said knee injury.

In Elam's place was Jackson.

While the Buffalo Bills preferred to play Jackson last season, they need to have a plan for Elam considering they spent a first-round pick on the former University of Florida Gator. If the Bills want Elam to live up to his potential, he will need to see the field — but Jackson is the roadblock that's appeared to stand in his way.

Regardless of this battle's outcome, the Bills cornerbacks need to eliminate any repeats of this haunted play from last season.
