Buffalo Bills: 3 candidates to be third QB on roster in wake of new rule

Candidates to become Buffalo Bills third QB on roster: Kyle Allen
Here is an interesting thought. How about the Bills go out and sign veteran Cam Newton to back up Josh Allen? Back in April, Newton went on record with a few quarterbacks he would like to back up in making a return to the league, and Allen was one of them.
If the Bills signed Newton, then it might make it a whole lot easier for Buffalo to decide on a third quarterback. Earlier in the offseason, the team signed veteran Kyle Allen to be the backup quarterback. But, they could still upgrade that position by bringing in someone else. Would Newton be the better backup?
Only training camp would be able to give us that answer, but he sure would bring the mobility to the position, which Allen doesn't exactly bring to the table. Allen does have 19 career starts, so having him as a third string quarterback would be a luxury.
As a backup, though, the Bills could still do better. A more recent example of a better option was a guy like Case Keenum, but the Bills let him go and he's now with the Houston Texans. So, if Buffalo were to go out and sign someone like Cam Newton, then Allen could come in clutch as a great number three option.
