Candidates to become Buffalo Bills third QB on roster: Chase Daniel

If, for some reason, the Bills decided to dip back into free agency, another long-time career backup that's still available is Chase Daniel. Since 2010, Daniel has been one of the best backup quarterbacks in football; at least, that's what his career would tell you.

He is, no doubt, a great locker room presence and teammate. Daniel has been lauded by many as being a great teammate and a total professional. For that reason, he's made quite a bit of money as a career backup. Having played for six teams since entering the league back in 2010, Daniel has only made five starts.

Still, whenever called upon, he's been able to do what's been asked of him. He has a career completion percentage of over 68 percentage and has thrown nine career touchdowns to seven interceptions.

The 36-year-old most recently spent two seasons backing up another young, star quarterback in Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers. Having him in that locker room undoubtedly helped aid in Herbert's development, and Daniel would be a valuable presence available to Josh Allen.
