Who will wear the green dot for the Buffalo Bills on defense?

In addition to the departure of Leslie Frazier, the Bills also lost their starting middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds in free agency. The former first round pick has been a starter almost immediately after the Bills selected him in the 2018 NFL Draft and the coaching staff will need to find his replacement this summer.

While the Bills have plenty of options on the roster, every player outside of A.J. Klein doesn't have much regular season experience with Tyrel Dodson having the most with five career starts. This inexperience could shift the coaching staff's plan for who wears the green dot on defense.

The player with the green dot on defense has a headset in their helmet that the defensive coordinator relays the play call during the game that the player must communicate to the other players.

While the Bills don't have an experienced middle linebacker to replace Edmunds, they have a number of options to wear the green dot. The most likely candidate would be Matt Milano, who is coming off his first All-Pro nomination, but they also have safeties Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde who know this defense well.

One of these three would be the best option and it will be interesting to see how early the coaching staff determines who will handle these responsibilities.
