Buffalo Bills minicamp - the highs

Kaiir Elam

The third-year cornerback had a very good week, hauling in two interceptions, and Dan Fetes described the coaching staff as “fired up” after the play. Elam needs a bounce-back season after missing all but three games in 2023, and this is just what he needs to get back on track. Elam is fighting for the third cornerback role, and so far he’s making a strong case to be ahead of Ja’Marcus Ingram on the depth chart. With a couple of strong preseason games later this summer, we should see a very different Kaiir Elam in 2024 than we’ve seen the past two seasons. With Rasul Douglas becoming a free agent at the end of the year, the Bills are hoping their former first-round pick can step up.

Te’Cory Couch

An undrafted free agent out of Miami, Couch is an unknown among Bills fans. However, don’t let that distract you from the fact that he’s had a very good start to his Buffalo tenure. WGR’s Sal Capaccio reported that Couch had an interception and a pass breakup. With the depth the Bills have at cornerback, it would take a lot for Couch to stick around on the active roster. However, Couch is still making a case to stick around on the practice squad. The Bills have a good track record with late-round/UDFA cornerbacks, and Couch could be another player added to an ever-growing list.
