How does Dawson Knox role change with Dalton Kincaid on the roster?
For the past two seasons, Dawson Knox has been the Buffalo Bills primary tight end, seeing over 80% of the snaps during that period. The Bills operated almost exclusively out of a formation that one tight end and three wide receivers, which was due in large part to the personnel they had on the roster.
During that time, he had around 70 targets and nearly 50 receptions but his impact was felt more in the red zone with 11 of his 15 receiving touchdowns coming inside the 20-yard line and seven inside the 10-yard line.
There is no question that Dalton Kincaid has more upside as a receiver than Dawson Knox however Knox is more of a threat in the red zone. It would not be surprising if Knox's receptions dropped significantly but his receiving touchdowns remained at the levels it has over the past two seasons.
Knox also is a better blocker so he shouldn't see his snaps dip too much with Dalton Kincaid on the roster but the targets probably go more towards the rookie as he gets more comfortable in the offense.
