Keon Coleman was the Buffalo Bills' first selection of the 2024 NFL Draft, as the Bills rebuilt their receiver depth chart. It also marked the first time Brandon Beane has taken a receiver before the fourth round since joining the Bills organization after the 2017 draft. Buffalo also added new faces via free agency, signing multiple additions, to go with Coleman and returning receiver Khalil Shakir.
Out of all the new faces, it's Keon Coleman that Bleacher Report's Maurice Moton predicts to have a big season. He has a stat line of 80 receptions, 1,016 yards and 10 touchdowns. If Coleman has this type of production this season, it will be a Bills' rookie record for yards, and receptions (a record just set last season by Dalton Kincaid). The 10 touchdowns would also break Sammy Watkin's Bills record for touchdown receptions by a rookie.
The Bills need Coleman to be productive, but to expect him to break major receiving records for a rookie is an unfair expectation. All Bills fans are hoping for the best out of Coleman, but most know he will not likely replace the statistical production that Stefon Diggs had over the last four seasons. Buffalo has a lot of new weapons, and I think the passing game will primarily go through Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid, but Coleman will have his share of big moments throughout the season.
Buffalo Bills’ offense will look different in 2024
The Bills' offense in 2024 will be interesting, and if there is anything we can learn from last year under offensive coordinator Joe Brady, the ball will be spread around. And I expect to see even more of that this season without Diggs being involved. I think Coleman likely finishes third or fourth in targets, and I would be comfortable if he produced Gabe Davis-level numbers, but with consistency throughout the year.
