Bills selects Sedrick Van Pran-Granger with pick 141: Instant grade and analysis
The Buffalo Bills already made one pick on Day 3 when they picked running back Ray Davis out of Kentucky. He should make an impact almost immediately as a bigger running back to pair with James Cook and now all four draft picks made in the 2024 NFL Draft have realistic chances of contributing as rookies.
The next pick by the Buffalo Bills may have to wait a little big longer but could find his way into snaps this season. With the first pick of the fifth round, the Bills drafted center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger out of Georgia.
He is an experienced center with 44 career starts over three seasons and was part of an excellent offensive line for the Bulldogs. In the SEC, he would regularly have to go up against some of the best defensive lines in the league and he certainly held his own in those battles.
Instant grade for the Buffalo Bills selection of Sedrick Van Pran-Granger: A
This is a great value pick for the Buffalo Bills that now gives them more options heading into the summer. The Bills released Mitch Morse this offseason to create some much-needed cap space and the expectation is that Connor McGovern could move over to center and replace Morse.
However, now with Sedrick Van Pran-Granger on the roster the Bills have a rookie who is capable of starting right away with a strong training camp. This could move McGovern back to left guard, where he played very well this past season. A move like this would help keep as much familiarity across the offensive line as Dion Dawkins will have the same player next to him that he did all last season.
