Going from college to the NFL is a hard adjustment and we usually don’t see a lot of success with players quickly adjusting to the speed of the NFL. It is faster and harder and a lot of players struggle to catch up to speed. It is completely normal and as long as they keep improving, the game will start to slow down.

The Buffalo Bills drafted safety Cole Bishop in the second round of the NFL Draft this year to help revamp the secondary after losing Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer. Bishop has a massive advantage having Sean McDermott as a coach because McDermott was a defensive back himself. Not to mention, Babich is a well-respected coach himself who has helped McDermott build the defense into what it is today.

Bishop is also going through some growing pains himself early on in training camp. Defensive coordinator Bobby Babich commented on how Bishop can earn himself a regular role within the defense, according to Sal Capaccio.

Babich is giving Bishop tough love

Babich hit the nail on the head with this quote. There is no doubt that Bishop has a lot of talent and that he will hopefully become a solid player for the defense. At the end of the day, Bishop is going to need to learn how to adjust to the pros and him getting called out should be proper motivation.

It more than likely will be Taylor Rapp and Mike Edwards starting in the backend of the defense to start the season. However, if Bishop is able to earn some reps and take advantage of his opportunity, Bills fans will get a sneak peek as to what the future with Bishop could be. As training camp progresses, Bishop will need to be closely watched to see if he can start to turn heads for the better.
