Bills barely lead the way in latest B/R power rankings within AFC East

The last four seasons have been a great run for the Buffalo Bills. This upcoming season will be arguably their most difficult one to repeat as division champions. However, anything is possible when you have the best quarterback and most stable coaching staff within the division.

Last year was the first season in awhile where winning the division wasn’t a walk in the park. In fact, they needed to win out the second half of their season and needed some luck with the Miami Dolphins losing out. Both of those things happened and the Bills took the AFC East away from the Dolphins on their home turf.

Going into Week 1, the Bills have their doubters and believers. Either way, we are going to see what kind of team the Bills will be with their adventurous offseason. The Bleacher Report NFL Staff posted their first NFL power rankings list heading into Week 1 and they have the Bills leading the way amongst the AFC East, but not by much at all.

The Bills were placed at No. 9, while the Miami Dolphins are right behind them at No. 10. Then the New York Jets find themselves at No. 13, and the New England Patriots are all the way at the bottom at No. 32.

The Buffalo Bills deserve to be at the top within the AFC East

Everyone knows that the Patriots are not expected to be any kind of threat this year. They will be looking forward to 2025 and hoping that Drake Maye’s development isn’t screwed up. With the New York Jets, they are going all-in (once again) but bad luck seems to hit them every single year. Not to mention, Robert Saleh is coaching for his job this year and if the Jets don’t make the playoffs once again, there should be a lot of organizational changes.

For the Dolphins, they are considered to be the team that has been chasing the Bills closely over the last couple of years. That would be true, but the Dolphins have not proven that they can win in November and December which gives Buffalo the advantage. Not to mention, the Dolphins have only beaten the Bills twice since 2018.

There is no denying that the Bills’ roster looks a little skeptical heading into Week 1. However, putting them anywhere below their division rivals is wrong.
