9 free agents that should be on Buffalo Bills wish list after recent cuts

Curtis Samuel

This past season for the Bills shown they need a true field stretcher and is at least modestly consistent. In the Divisional Round loss to the Chiefs, they were without Gabe Davis due to injury, and he has been known to do damage to the Chiefs in the playoffs.

Now, with Gabe seemingly leaving due to free agency, along with the release of Deonte Harty as well as Trent Sherfield leaving to free agency as well it seems, the Bills need some serious firepower down the field. Curtis Samuel can be that for the Bills.

He has been the victim of poor QB play in the past few years, most notably last season with the Washington Commanders and Sam Howell. Although Samuel's numbers weren't eye-popping in 2023 (62 receptions on 91 targets, 613 yards, and 4 touchdowns) he also was competing for targets with Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, and Dyami Brown, which is already a talented WR room.

Another reason I feel Samuel would be perfect for Buffalo outside of his skillset, is his most productive season in the NFL came with Carolina, and his OC at the time was none other than Joe Brady. He may cost a little more (Spotrac is listing his market value at 3 years, $34,610,820, with an annual average value at $11,536,940) but with the free agent class of wide receivers having big names and with a loaded WR class in the draft, Samuel might lose the game of musical chairs and sign a cheaper deal with the Bills.
