For the second year in a row the Buffalo Bills are not in a great position in terms of their cap space. In 2022, the Bills made a big splash by signing defensive end Von Miller but this offseason should be much like the last in terms of trying to find role players or bargains during free agency.

The challenge for general manager Brandon Beane is that the Bills have a number of positions they have to address this offseason. The good news is that some of these can be improved through the NFL Draft but when looking at the potential players available during free agency, these are eight realistic options for the Bills in 2024.

Mitchell Trubisky

The Buffalo Bills once again should find themselves searching for a quarterback to back up Josh Allen. While Sam Darnold is probably the best option, knows Josh Allen but also played in Joe Brady's offense in Carolina, he probably will command a contract that is more than the Bills can afford.

However, they should be able to bring back a player familiar with the organization in Mitchell Trubisky. He spent one season in Buffalo in 2021 before signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2022 offseason. He was released recently and the Bills wouldn't have to wait until free agency to sign him.

This is one move that makes a lot of sense and should be done fairly quickly.
