For a lot of veterans, the preseason games are not something they necessarily look forward to. These games don't matter in the grand scheme of the season and it really is something they want to get over with.
However, for Damar Hamlin it is far from just a preseason game, or another game in general, as he would step into an NFL game for the first time since suffering cardiac arrest against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17. The fact that he was able to return to the NFL less than a year after this injury and really play pretty well with three tackles, is nothing short of remarkable.
While watching him play, he showed no hesitancy or reluctance for contact and looked like the same safety from earlier last season. He should absolutely be on the 53-man roster and one of the backup safeties this season.
