4.) Geno Smith

After reviving his career in 2022 with the Seattle Seahawks, Geno Smith took over the starting quarterback duties again in 2023 but had a bit of a drop off. In 2022, Smith completed a career 69% completion percentage for 4,282 yards and 30 touchdowns to 11 interceptions.

In addition, Smith was responsible for 206 passing first downs for the Seahawks. Then last season, Smith dropped down to a 64% completion percentage for 3,624 yards and 20 touchdowns to 9 interceptions. While it is not the worst drop off we have seen, it is interesting that Smith took a step back even with an extra added weapon in Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Smith has proven to be a bridge quarterback, but he is kind of like Jared Goff where he needs a perfect setup to be successful. He does not make a lot of off-script plays and the Seahawks’ defense needs to bring support to keep pressure off from Smith having to play from behind.

The Bills’ defense has to take advantage of a limited quarterback who can make plays, but can also crumble under pressure.
