5 unsung heroes for the Buffalo Bills in Week 17 against the Patriots

The player that was holding those kick attempts was punter Sam Martin but he is on this list for what he did as a punter on Sunday against the Patriots. He would have six punt attempts and averaged 48.2 yards per punt with one punt being returned which went for only two yards.

More importantly, and this was a big factor in the game, was that all six punts were downed inside the 20 yard line. The Buffalo Bills offense was struggling but with how the defense was playing, the Patriots offense didn't have much of a chance as they had to go the length of the field for a chance at points.

This is the second good week from Martin as he had four punts last week against the Chargers with three of them being downed inside the 20. The goal for the team is that Sam Martin is not asked to punt at all but it is good to see that when he has punted, he has been able to make an impact.
