Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions

Sam LaPorta is one of the many rookies in 2023 who seemingly exceeded everyone's expectations. He was part of a great Detroit Lions team littered with young talent and had this sudden emergence as one of the top players in his position.

LaPorta was Jared Goff's most reliable target in 2023, more so that he broke the record for most receptions for a rookie Tight End (91), recording 889 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. LaPorta is arguably a top-five tight end already, and with his rare ability to be great at both blocking and receiving, he can very well become a top-three player in his position very soon.

The Bills will have a problem containing LaPorta and the dangerous Lions offense. The Bills' defense will have to rely on their linebackers and safeties guarding Laporta, whether it's Milano, Bernard, or any safety guarding him, LaPorta can win a majority of those battles.
