4.) Kyle Allen wins the backup quarterback position
Maybe this was expected or maybe it was not. However, when the news broke that quarterback Matt Barkley was put on the season-ending IR, that gave the nod to Allen to backup Josh Allen for the season.
This does not mean that competition could come into the Bills’ quarterback room eventually, but as of now, there are two Allen’s in the quarterback room. This more than likely means that Barkley could be done with the Bills totally beyond this season, after being with the Bills on and off the last few seasons.
Now that Kyle Allen can focus on helping out the rest of the offense get better, there also has to be training for him. He struggled in the preseason and if Josh Allen somehow goes down, the offense will be changing under Kyle Allen. Maybe the Bills look at the free agency pool to see if it is worth bringing in another quarterback to compete for the backup spot.
