Michael Thomas

After the Bills traded Stefon Diggs, the wide receiver position has been a big topic of discussion. The depth chart as it currently stands includes Curtis Samuel and Khalil Shakir at the top followed by Mack Hollins, Justin Shorter, Andy Isabella, and KJ Hamler.

General manager Brandon Beane will certainly add to this group and there is almost no chance this is the group the Bills go into the season with. The NFL Draft will present an opportunity for the Bills to bring in more talent but they should also look to add a veteran to the position.

The player who might be the biggest risk but could present the biggest upside among the available free agents would be Michael Thomas. The former Saints wide receiver currently holds the NFL record for receptions in a single season with 149 in 2019.

However, since that season, Thomas has not been able to stay on the field and over the past four seasons he has played in only 20 games. This past season was the most he played in a season and he appeared in 10 games.

If Michael Thomas can remain healthy, and that is certainly a big if, he could return to being a Pro Bowl wide receiver with Josh Allen throwing him the ball.
