How many defensive ends do the Buffalo Bills keep on the 53-man roster?

The defensive end position is probably the deepest on the Buffalo Bills roster enter training camp. This is great news for such a critical position on the defense and the Bills have rotated frequently at this position so depth is important.

However, the team is going to have some really tough decisions to make when it is time to cut the roster down to 53 players. If the Bills keep Von Miller on the PUP list, it makes it a little easier as they don't have to carry him on the 53-man roster to start. However, if he is placed on injured reserve he needs to be on the initial 53-man roster before being moved to injured reserve.

After Miller, Leonard Floyd and Greg Rousseau are locks while A.J. Epenesa looks like a pretty safe bet to make the roster. This likely leaves one, maybe two, roster spots for a group that includes Boogie Basham and Shaq Lawson (who were on the roster last year), Kameron Cline (who was claimed off waivers), Shane Ray (former first round pick), and Kingsley Jonathan (who was with the team last training camp).

Whoever makes the 53-man roster at defensive end is certainly going to earn it as the competition will be very tough during training camp and preseason.
