5 prospects the Bills could target in trading up in the 2024 NFL Draft

After acquiring an extra draft pick from Stefon Diggs, many fans expect the Buffalo Bills to package that in a trade up for a WR.

Cooper DeJean, DB, Iowa

DeJean is an unknown prospect. He has the traits to be a day-one starter, but the question is, where? He can play both cornerback and safety at a very high level. As Anthony DiBona of ProFootballNetwork pointed out, DeJean has played every single position on defense, much like Taylor Rapp did with the LA Rams before signing with Buffalo. Although DeJean has played everywhere on defense, outside corner and safety tally his most snaps.

Buffalo needs a cornerback that not too many people are discussing. Dane Jackson and Tre White are not on the team anymore, and Rasul Douglas' contract expires at the end of the season. Buffalo is down to just Christian Benford and Kaiir Elam as projected starters after 2024, Not to mention this year, there's not a lot of depth behind Benford and Douglas, so losing one of them to an injury would be costly. Before fracturing his fibula, DeJean was having a tremendous season with Iowa. He totaled 41 tackles, two INTs, five passes defended, and two TFLs in 10 games.

Laiatu Latu, DE, UCLA

Why a defensive end? Well, for multiple reasons actually. Buffalo has to decide on Greg Rousseau's fifth-year option after the draft, Von Miller is likely a cut candidate after this season, and the Bills LOVE depth on the defensive line with multiple different rotations throughout the game. Latu is arguably the best pass rusher in this draft alongside Dallas Turner.

Latu totaled 24 tackles for a loss and 23.5 sacks in his last two years at UCLA, including 13.5 sacks last season. Latu will give the Bills starter-level production right away, even in a heavy rotation that Sean McDermott uses. While a DE may not be the flashiest pick they could make round 1, I wouldn't sleep on the possibility of it happening.
