Buffalo Bills would not have drafted Khalil Shakir in 2022 NFL Draft
The second part of that trade the Cardinals agreed upon with the Eagles was a 2022 fifth round pick. If the Bills had traded that pick, it would have cost them wide receiver Khalil Shakir.
The former Boise State wide receiver had a promising rookie season in limited snaps. He certainly showed upside during the season and even saw his role expand towards the end of the season and into the playoffs. In the two playoff games, Shakir had five receptions on seven targets for 91 yards.
The question will be what his role is moving forward as he has a good chance to be the starting slot receiver for this offense this season. If the Bills didn’t have Shakir, it would have created another hole on this offense that general manager Brandon Beane would have needed to address this offseason.
