During the 2021 offseason, one of the big questions the Buffalo Bills had was at tight end. In the two seasons leading up to that offseason, Dawson Knox hadn’t developed as much as many expected when they drafted him in the third round.
He was inconsistent and drops were a big concern early in his career. At the time, the Buffalo Bills may have been looking for a veteran playmaker for Josh Allen. One of the players that were rumored to be available was Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz.
The Bills were a popular destination and there were a few reports that a deal was close. The trade would not end up going through and Ertz would eventually be traded to the Arizona Cardinals right before the trade deadline.
