5 players who are off to a great start at Buffalo Bills training camp
By Brandon Ray
1.) Stefon Diggs - Wide Receiver
The star wide receiver for arguably the best quarterback-wide receiver combo in the league had eyes on him not just during training camp, but also in the offseason after the Bills’ disastrous playoff loss against the Cincinnati Bengals.
It looked as if Diggs was upset with how things were being managed on the coaching side of the Bills. After months of speculation and even rumors of what the future between the Bills and Diggs could be, the media drama has been set aside and may even be set to rest. Diggs has addressed the media that everything is good and that he plans to retire as a Buffalo Bill. Diggs is ready to help get the Bills past the obstacles that they have faced the last couple of seasons.
During training camp, the Allen-to-Diggs has picked up where it left off in which Diggs has looked like the best player on the field. Diggs has also been seen helping other receivers and giving them tips on the sideline, meaning that he is embracing the mentor role. Having one of the best receivers as a mentor is something that will be beneficial for this season. As mentioned before, Diggs and Allen connected for a 50-yard touchdown on the third day of training camp and overall have not missed a beat with each other.
In addition, according to Ben Volin, Diggs has even taken on the leadership role with trying to correct mental mistakes with his teammates.
Allen and Diggs are back for their fourth year together in Buffalo and are looking to bring the offense over the hump and that starts with getting better at training camp.
