Jaelan Phillips

Another pass rusher the Buffalo Bills will see twice this season is Miami Dolphins defensive end Jaelan Phillips. He was selected 18th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Dolphins and is the former teammate of Buffalo Bills defensive end Greg Rousseau from their time together at the University of Miami.

Phillips is a player that steadily improved over the past two seasons and while the sack total may not jump out, with only 15.5 career sacks, he does an excellent job getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks. As a rookie, Phillips had 16 QB hits and that total jumped to 25 last year.

With Bradley Chubb on the other side, the Buffalo Bills are not always going to be able to give Spencer Brown help and he will need to have a better performance than he did in Week 15 last season. In that game, Phillips had one sack and three QB hits and Brown will have a rematch with Phillips in Week 4 of the 2023 season.
