General manager Brandon Beane has a pretty good track record with the Buffalo Bills when it comes to the NFL Draft. He has been able to find some excellent players, including Josh Allen, Tremaine Edmunds, Ed Oliver, Greg Rousseau, James Cook, and Dalton Kincaid.

Even with the great picks Brandon Beane has made, there have been a number of mistakes surrounding draft picks over the past few years. These can range from picking the wrong player to even moving on too quickly.

These are the five biggest draft mistakes the Buffalo Bills have made that continues to haunt them.

Kaiir Elam

Kaiir Elam is one who has time to turn it around as he is entering only his third season in the NFL but this past season was pretty much a disaster for the former first round pick. He was buried on the depth chart and spent most of the season as a healthy scratch.

The Bills traded up for Elam in the first round and the additional draft capital makes this pick even worse. When also factoring in that two picks before Elam, the Kansas City Chiefs selected Trent McDuffie just magnifies the miss as McDuffie has developed into one of the better cornerbacks in the league as he is coming off a season where he was named first-team All-Pro.

in the second round there were a number of cornerbacks selected that would have been better picks like Roger McCreary, Kyler Gordon or Cam Taylor-Britt. A better pick here would not have put as much pressure on the cornerback position this past season as the Bills tried to navigate the secondary after Tre'Davious White's injury.
