Josh Allen's pass attempt falls short to Khalil Shakir

Working backwards from Tyler Bass' field goal attempt, the next play is only two plays before the missed field goal. It was 2nd and 9 and the first play inside the two minute warning and the Bills were just outside the red zone at the 26 yard line.

The pass attempt was to Khalil Shakir on a post route in the middle of the end zone. It was a route that looked very similar to one of Gabe Davis' touchdown in his four touchdown game a few years ago against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Shakir definitely beat the coverage and would have had a chance to make the catch. Unfortunately, the pass was underthrown because as Josh Allen went to throw, he was bumped by Chris Jones and couldn't really follow through.

This was easily going to be a touchdown if on target and would not have even needed Bass to come on to the field to tie the game.
