4.) Spencer Brown continues to struggle

There were plenty of concerns surrounding Bills’ offensive tackle Spencer Brown heading into this season. He has had issues with staying healthy, as well as protecting the franchise in the pocket.

In the first quarter against the Steelers, Brown’s struggles continued with penalties and lack of protection. Brown had two penalties on one drive that cost the Bills major yardage, including a beautiful sideline pass to Gabriel Davis that was called back due to a holding penalty called on Brown.

Along with the penalties, Brown was getting beat on both the inside and outside which is part of the reason why Allen’s pocket was collapsing on him in the first quarter. The Bills will need to bring in competition for Brown at the right tackle position before the start of the season.

The pass protection on the right side seems to be almost non-existent which causes Allen to play hero ball or not sit comfortably in the pocket.
