2.) Dane Jackson takes the lead on the cornerback battle

One of the intriguing battles leading up to Bills training camp was the second cornerback position. The battle involving Dane Jackson, Christian Benford and Kaiir Elam started in training camp and was displayed in the Bills’ first preseason game.

Jackson got the start on the defense and three plays into the Colts’ first drive, Anthony Richardson threw an interception and it was picked off by Jackson who put the Bills offense in a great position for six points.

After that, Jackson never saw the field again. On the other hand, Elam struggled and Benford did not have a lot of action towards him. However, they both caused a penalty each. In addition, both Elam and Benford saw more playing time as well so that could mean the coaching staff is still evaluating both players as of now.

With Jackson’s only drive of the day ending in an interception caused by him, it is safe to say that Jackson currently has the second cornerback spot and it is his to lose moving forward.
