Bills get extra time to prepare before Bengals and Chiefs games
In addition to being later in the season, the Buffalo Bills get their bye week right before one of their biggest games of the season with the Kansas City Chiefs scheduled the following week in Week 14. The winner of this game puts themselves in a great position to secure the top seed in the AFC playoffs.
The Buffalo Bills have done very well after their bye weeks under Sean McDermott and in fact, he is undefeated in that first game after the bye as head coach.
In addition to the bye week right before the Chiefs game, the Buffalo Bills will have extra time to prepare for the Cincinnati Bengals with what is essentially a mini-bye week because the Bills play the Bucs on Thursday Night Football the week before the Bengals game.
If we were to rank the games on the schedule by importance, the Bengals game has to be right up there with the Chiefs game at this point as it seems likely one of these three teams will have the number one seed. The extra preparation time before both games should help the Buffalo Bills.
