Michael Thomas

Michael Thomas is another wide receiver who has dealt with injuries the past few years but at one point in his career was very productive. In fact, he owns the NFL single season record for receptions with 149, which he accomplished in 2019. In the first four seasons, Thomas had 90 or more receptions each year and over 1,000 receiving yards each season.

Unfortunately, since that 2019 season, Thomas has had only 95 total receptions over four seasons and has played in only 20 games due to ankle and foot injuries. The injuries became a big issue and the Saints released Thomas this offseason.

The recent string of injuries certainly makes Michael Thomas a risk but he is only 30 years old. There is more upside with Thomas at this point of his career compared to Odell Beckham Jr. and he could return to being that top wide receiver. It seems unlikely but if he is paired with a high draft pick at the position, it could be enough for the position.
