Justin Simmons

Justin Simmons was not expected to be a free agent but to clear some cap space, the Denver Broncos released him prior to free agency. He was a third round pick by the Broncos in 2016 and has played all eight seasons of his career in Denver.

Over the years, Simmons has emerged as one of the top safeties in the league with at least a Pro Bowl nomination or second-team All-Pro selection over the past five seasons. During that stretch, Simmons has 23 interceptions (including leading the league in 2022) along with three fumble recoveries.

There is no question that the Buffalo Bills defense would be better this season with Justin Simmons on it. The challenge is the Bills likely don't want to offer a long-term deal to a player turning 31 this season and they may not want to mortgage the future with multiple void years.
