The Buffalo Bills have been busy over the past week but one position that has not been addressed is safety and it could quickly emerge as their biggest need. The team has been lucky with Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde for as long as they had them but that officially has run its course as Poyer is now a member of the division rival Miami Dolphins.
Prior to free agency, the Bills did re-sign Taylor Rapp to a three-year deal and the team's backup last year should step in as one of the two starters. General manager Brandon Beane will now be tasked with finding the second half of that duo.
While there has been a flurry of deals over the past few days, the safety position is one that is still really deep with talented players available. The challenge though is that Buffalo doesn't have much cap space available and will need to get creative if they want to sign one of these players with longer contracts or void years at the end of the deal.
