Jeremy Chinn

Jeremy Chinn is one of the more interesting free agents this offseason because he has one of the widest possible outcomes. He was a second round pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2020 and looked like he was one of the best picks after finishing as runner-up for Defensive Rookie of the Year with 117 total tackles, two defensive tackles, one interception, and two fumble recovers.

However, as the years went along his role and production steadily decreased to the point that he would start only eight games and had 30 total tackles last year with the Panthers. In his first three seasons, he played 90% or more of the defensive snaps but this past season played less than 40%.

He is a big safety but very athletic and could be a great fit in this defense. The Buffalo Bills could be confident that they can help Chinn bounce back and sign him to a long-term deal. However, the more likely scenario would be a one-year prove-it deal but the Buffalo Bills may not want to do that and rather get that long-term solution now.
