Khalil Shakir

Another player who really benefited from Joe Brady's play-calling was wide receiver Khalil Shakir. The former fifth round pick started the season quietly but down the stretch was Allen's most reliable pass-catcher.

In the first six games of 2023, Shakir had only five targets in six games but after that had three or more receptions in eight of the 11 regular season games with three games over 90 receiving yards. He continued the strong play into the playoffs with 10 receptions and two receiving touchdowns in those games.

With Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis gone, there is plenty of targets up for grabs and the Bills should enter training camp with a wide open competition at the position. The Bills didn't bring in a clear number one wide receiver this offseason and Shakir has the most familiarity with Allen among the wide receivers and he should surpass his career totals from last season.
