Buffalo Bills players who will be cut before 2023 season: WR KeeSean Johnson
Last October, the Bills signed veteran wide receiver KeeSean Johnson to their practice squad off of waivers when the Atlanta Falcons cut him. Buffalo signed him to a futures deal earlier in the year, but he has an incredibly difficult battle ahead of him if he wants to sniff the active roster.
Buffalo is Johnson's fifth team since being a sixth-round pick back in 2019, having played for Atlanta, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Arizona, where he was drafted four years ago. It's taken a while for him to catch on anywhere, and Johnson only has 36 career receptions for 360 yards and one score.
Ahead of him, the Bills are loaded with a lot of names. Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Deonte Harty, Khalil Shakir and Trent Sherfield all seem like locks to make the team. Additionally, they have rookie Justin Shorter joining the squad, which will put them at six wide receivers.
Johnson is a practice squad candidate, but has a lot of competition even there, fighting for his future alongside Isaiah Coulter, Dezmon Patton, among four other rookies. It's going to be difficult for him to find a spot in Buffalo, even on a practice squad, with so many new faces in there competing over the summer months.
