The Buffalo Bills have one more preseason game left before they have to begin cutting the roster down from 90 players to 53 by Tuesday afternoon. The coaching staff is going to have some tough decisions with the depth the team has at positions like wide receiver.

Over the past few years, a majority of their practice squad has been built with players who were with the franchise during training camp and the preseason. This could give a good indication of who the team might try to bring back if they are released during the roster cutdowns on the offensive side of the ball.

Nick Broeker

The Buffalo Bills may have some questions at offensive tackle but the interior offensive line looks to be pretty set at this point of who makes the 53-man roster. One player that probably won't make the 53-man roster is Nick Broeker, who was a seventh round pick by the Buffalo Bills this past NFL Draft.

Through the first two preseason games, Broeker has been up and down which is expected for rookies, especially Day 3 draft picks. Unfortunately, the Bills have great depth at the position that they probably don't have room for a player who needs more development.

The Bills have released Day 3 picks during final roster cutdowns and have tried to bring them back to their practice squad, like Jack Anderson who was the seventh round pick in 2021. There is always a risk with this path because teams can sign players off your practice squad, which is exactly what happened with Anderson who was signed by the Eagles.

The Bills are going to have to take that gamble because the room just isn't there for Nick Broeker.
