5.) Poona Ford

When the Bills signed the veteran defensive tackle in free agency, Poona Ford was brought in to help the middle of the trenches and stop the run. The Bills’ defense has had trouble stopping the run in previous seasons and Ford should have been able to help with that issue.

Through the first half of the season, he has only recorded 7 total tackles and no sacks. When DaQuan Jones suffered a torn pec in Week 5 in London, it opened the door for potential opportunities for Ford who was inactive the three games prior. Since then, Ford has not made his presence.

The Bills are going into a tough part of their schedule in Week 9 at Cincinnati and Joe Mixon ran all over the Bills in their playoff matchup last season. Ford will need to step up for a beaten up defense moving forward otherwise the run defense may continue to struggle up the middle.
