2.) Greg Rousseau

The Bills’ 2021 first round draft pick has grown in his game the last two seasons, and now enters a critical year where he will have to earn the fifth-year option from the Bills on his rookie contract. Rousseau enters the 2023 season with not one but two veteran presences in Von Miller and newly signed Leonard Floyd on the other side of the defensive line.

Rousseau has received praise from coaches and teammates, including Jordan Phillips who said that Rousseau could be a top-ten kind of player and looks like Mario Williams on the field. Receiving comparison to Mario Williams, per Alex Brasky, who was part of the Bills defensive line from 2012-2015 and racked up double digit sacks in three of his four seasons in Buffalo (43 total sacks in Buffalo), should be a confidence booster.

As Rousseau goes into his third season on his rookie contract, and now that McDermott is set to take over the defense, Rousseau could implement the aggressiveness on the edge that this defense has not had in recent memory.
