5.) A.J. Epenesa

The fourth-year defensive end for the Bills who is going into a contract year with the team, and had a career year in 2022 with 6.5 sacks, 16 combined tackles and ten quarterback hits. The Bills like to rotate their defensive linemen both on the outside in the deep trenches so Epenesa should definitely see the field.

McDermott has given credit to Epenesa, per Chris Brown, specifically about the work he has put in the offseason. On the edge as of now, the Bills have a rotation of Epenesa, Leonard Floyd, Boogie Basham, Gregory Rousseau and Von Miller

Even though Epenesa more than likely will not be a starter, barring any injuries, he has been a player in training camp that has consistently won one-on-one battles against offensive linemen and players who head into a contract year know what is up for grabs.

Typically, these players tend to play beyond what they have prior and get some sort of payday, whether it is from their current team or a new team. Epenesa’s days might be limited in Buffalo, which means he will need to show what he is capable of and continue with the momentum he has built up during training camp.
