5.) James Cook looks ready to be the main back
Once Devin Singletary left Buffalo in free agency to sign with the Houston Texans, the door of opportunity opened up for James Cook to take the lead in the backfield. Not only that, but he would not have to carry the majority of the running game after the Bills signed Damien Harris and Latavius Murray in free agency.
Now that the Bills have wrapped up the preseason, Cook showed off his talents starting at training camp and even through the preseason. While he did not get a ton of action, he showed his ability to get the breakaway step both in between the tackles and on the outside.
In addition, Cook did not get a ton of passes thrown his way which means that his ability to catch passes out of the backfield have yet to be shown in a real game situation. The younger Cook brother will get the opportunity to be a big contributor in week one, where he will face his older brother, Dalvin, when the Bills take on the New York Jets.
