2.) Terrel Bernard shines in ongoing linebacker battle

Much like the cornerback position, there is also a linebacker competition going on to figure out who will call the plays and replace the footsteps of Tremaine Edmunds. According to Bills’ linebacker coach Bobby Babich, per Jon Scott, the linebacker position battle is coming down to run-stopper Tyrel Dodson and versatile linebacker Terrel Bernard. This battle is arguably going to be the most watched throughout the preseason for the Bills.

Bernard provides something that Dodson doesn’t, that Sean McDermott likes out of his linebackers and that is the ability to play sideline-to-sideline football. Like Edmunds and Milano, Bernard has that advantage over Dodson which he will have the chance to display this Saturday against the Colts.

Not only is Bernard able to fit the defensive scheme, but according to Alex Brasky, head coach Sean McDermott talked about how he has been impressed with Bernard taking command of the defense.

While he and Dodson are two different types of players, Bernard might be the better defensive scheme which he has the opportunity to show this Saturday against the Colts.
