5 backups the Buffalo Bills may need to rely on in Week 7

The defensive tackle position is another position that has seen injuries begin to pile up as DaQuan Jones suffered a pec injury in Week 5 that would require surgery and he was placed on injured reserve. Unfortunately, the Bills other starting defensive tackle Ed Oliver is dealing with his own injury, a toe injury, and he did not practice at all on Wednesday.

The Bills entering this week against the Patriots could have their starters be Poona Ford and Jordan Phillips. However, the Bills rotate at the position frequently and Tim Settle could end up playing a season-high total snaps.

In Week 5 against the Jaguars, Settle played 47 snaps but in the other five games this season he played 20 or fewer. If Oliver is not able to play this week, the team likely will elevate Kendal Vickers from the practice squad but Settle should be a key part of the rotation.
