Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals are 1-6 on the season and even with Kyler Murray close to returning, they appear poised to once again have a Top 10 pick. One of the reasons for their struggles has been a secondary that is allowing the 10th most passing yards per game at 237.6 yards.

The Cardinals should be looking to add as much talent as possible to try and speed up the turn around for their franchise. Head coach Jonathan Gannon was previously the defensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles and adding an athletic cornerback like Elam could be a good fit in his defense.

If the Cardinals were to make a trade now, it wouldn't be to try and compete this year but hopefully give Kaiir Elam consistent snaps, something he didn't get in Buffalo, and go through those growing pains as a young player. The hope would be then in 2024, he would be playing at a high enough level to be a starter for the Cardinals and is one less need they have to address.
